James Landing is an upscale neighborhood in the Hidenwood area of Newport News situated along the banks of the James River. Many homes in James Landing were built in the 60s and 70s but some newer construction is interspersed. A minimum of four bedrooms and square footage between 2000 and 3000 is common, but some much larger homes exist in the neighborhood, especially those situated on the waterfront. Home values between 300,000 and 400,000 are typical with some waterfront parcels well-exceeding $1M. Waterfront residents in James Landing enjoy majestic panoramic million dollar views and their own private beaches on the James River. The neighborhood is quiet and is subject to very little through traffic. 

Residents of James Landing enjoy very convenient access to shopping at James Landing shopping center, as well as highly acclaimed Harris Teeter grocery store just across Warwick Boulevard. Happenings on the campus of CNU and the Mariners’ Museum are always right around the corner from home. Newport News’ newest shopping area, Tech Center, as well as Interstate 64 access are just also just minutes away.
